To Whom It Would Be of Interest,
I wrote this song to pay tribute to All Veterans and
would be honored if you choose to post it on your Patriotic
Web Site. I thank you and God Bless!
A Tribute To Veterans
In Vietnam, Korea and World Wars Past
Our Men Fought Bravely so Freedom Would Last
Conditions Where Not Always Best They Could Be
Fighting a Foe You Could Not Always See:
From Mountain Highs to Valley Lows
From Jungle Drops to Desert Patrols
Our Sinewy Sons Were Sent Over Seas
Far From Their Families And Far From Their Dreams
They Never Wrote Letters Of Hardships Despair
Only Of Love, Yearning That One Day Soon:
They Would Come Home, They Would Resume
And Carry On With The Rest of Their Lives
The P.O.W.'S Stood Steadfast
Against the Indignities And Cruelties Of War
They Could Not Have Lasted as Long as They Did
If They Had Relinquished Their Hope That Some Day:
They Would Come Home, They Would Resume
And Carry On the Rest Of Their Lives
Medics, Nurses, and Chaplains Alike
Did What They Needed To Bring Back Life
They Served Our Forces From Day Into Night
Not Questioning If They Would Survive:
They Mended Bones And Bodies Too,
They Soothed the Spirits of Dying Souls
And for Those M.I.A.'S, Who Were Left Behind
We Echo This Message Across the Seas
We Will search For as Long As It Takes
You're Not Forgotten And Will Always Be:
In Our Hearts, In Our Prayers,
In Our Minds For All Time
A Moment of Silence, a Moment of Summons
Is Their Deliverance of Body And Soul
To a Sacred Place That We All Know
Deep In the Shrines of Our Soul:
In Our Hearts, In Our Prayers
In Our Minds For All Time
INTERLUDE:
GOLD STAR MOTHERS GRIEVE: ENDLESSLY,
ENDLESSLY, ENDLESSLY.......
These Immortalized Soldiers Whose Bravery Abounds
They're Our Husbands, Fathers, and Sons
They Enlisted For the Duty at Hand
To Serve the Cause of Country and Land:
They Had Honor, They Had Valor,
They Found Glory That Change Them Forever
Men Standing Tall and Proud They be
A Country Behind Them in a Solemn Sea
So Let the Flags of Freedom Fly
Unfurled in Their Majesty High:
In the Sun, In the Rain
In the Winds Across This Land
Years of Tears Has Brought Us Here
Gathering Around to Hear This Sound
So Let the Flags of Freedom Fly
Unfurled in Their Majesty High:
In the Sun, In the Rain,
In the Winds Across This Land
REPEAT:
In the Sun, In the Rain,
In the Winds For All Time

Jerry's Rendition in Wav Format
Hello Joseph,
Thank you for the acknowledgment from a fellow poet.
It means a lot to me and the fact that you are willing
to post it on your site. A lot of sites that do their
own material have not!
I do have my own music to the lyrics , but it's not
always to every bodies liking. (Posted Link Above)
I have also written a song dedicated to the Gold Star
Mothers and will submit the lyrics for your review.
GOLD STAR MOTHERS
Gold Star Mothers... A Proud and Honored Creed
How Can You Not Be Totally Torn Apart
When the Knock Comes Frighteningly at Your Door
And Your life Goes Permanently on Hold
Your Body Trembles Uncontrolled
As Your Tears Flood Deep into Your Soul
And Your Heart Aches Worst Than Ever Before
You Well Know Now Your Son Wonıt be Coming Home
CHORUS:
Gold Star Mothers...
No-One Knows How They Feel
Gone Unnoticed But Undoubtedly Real
Gold Star Mothers...
Carry Their Stars In Esteem
In Memory Of Their Sons
Who died Over Seas
This Emptiness Becomes Unbearable to Console
And the Sadness Pummels From Every Side
The Hurt You Feel Words Cannot Describe
And Your Misery Wonıt Stop Gnawing Inside
Your Emotions Reel To Fragile to Confide
And in Your Darkest Moments Thereıs No Tears to Cry
And The world Turns But Yours is Upside Down.............CHORUS:
So You Cling to Images Of a Son You Raised and Watched Grow
Turning Into a Young Man Ready to Take on Lifeıs Throes
You Look at His Pictures A Father and Mother Well Know
You Cherish the Moment He Smiled and Said ³ Good-By ³
You Hang on to His Keepsakes Treasures to Behold
All These Loved Memories Way More Precious Than gold
This is Your One Refuge You Donıt Have to Concede........CHORUS:
Then You Turn to Your Husband Your Partner Confidant
To Help Ease the Pain And Give You Strength to Go On
And You Wonder, How Can Life Be Worth Living For
When You Wake Up in the Morning And Reality is Your Worst Nightmare
And You Question How The Maker Could be so Unfair
Then You Think of Your Son Who Gave All to Him
For the Freedom That We All Enjoy On a Whim!.............CHORUS:
Then You Find the Light That Guides You From Above
And Your Mission Becomes To Keep Your Sons Memory Alive
To Remind Us For What and Why He Died
In the Minds of Nations And All of Living Mankind
In the Hopes That the World Can Turn Darkness Into Light
And Make It a Better Place As In the Beginning of Time
For the Love of Freedom And a Mothers Peace of Mind......CHORUS:
